Bound by ceramic

<

Pincus has always been a collective effort led by Laurie and Peter. United in our practice and vision to reimagine the possibilities of porcelain. Backed by a lifetime of ceramic-obsession.

Laurie

With sharp instincts for logistics, and practical problem
solving. Laurie’s unique business approach has garnered industry-wide praise.

Laurie is our lead colorist. Excelling in precise color application and cutting techniques. Her exploration of color relationships
has been foundational for recent Pincus works.

From the start, Laurie has master minded the Pincus business. Levelheaded and detail-focused, she makes it happen.

Peter says, and many agree, everyone needs a Laurie.

Since discovering ceramics at 16, Peter has always
looked beyond the expected. From practising the overlooked techniques of slip casting and mold making
to inventing a colored slip casting process that redefined contemporary ceramics.

Peter is our ceramic architect. Fascinated by form, he considers it from the perspectives of manufacturing, art, design, and engineering. By knowing these boundaries, he's able to blur them.

A passionate porcelainite. He asks, ‘Why make
a one-part mold when you could make a 100-part mold?’
Peter brings an unwavering enthusiasm to Pincus.
He pushes us further.

Relentless
problem solvers

Fearlessly creative, highly technical and outrageously optimistic.
We see possibility where others see friction. Impossible? Try us.

No shortcuts

From first sketch to throw. mould, cut, reassembly, new mould, colour casting, to finish. No shortcuts, only the long way round.

Collectively
defying
convention

Testing, trialling and triumphing in porcelain. As a team because more heads are always better than one.

Want to create the impossible?
So do we.
